Birth of the Death Strikers

Heaven has need of its own “in house” executioners. We’re talking about spirits who kill humans whose behavior is particularly offensive to god. In the past, such a task would be assigned to either the angels of death(peacefully separate souls from bodies), the 7 archangels of healing(creators of the diseases that they cure), or Megatron the archangel of contracts. At one point, god the father created an order of angels called the “death bringers” who specialized in slaughtering heathens in the most brutally violent was possible, but he destroyed them all because they creeped him out. Recently, Megatron created his own iteration of the Death Bringers and a twin order of angels called the Death Dealers. Today’s conversation will be about the third order of angels that is dedicated to killing only the most despicable of heathens. In heaven they are known as the Death Strikers, and for very good reason.

The angels and archangels that belong to the aforementioned orders have what humans would consider a frightening affinity with death. They differ greatly from other angels because the nature of their existence leans more towards the violent anti-hero archetype, rather than the holy warrior angel trope that has become so prevalent in pop culture. The nature of their existence is so murderous that they frighten practically everyone in the heavens except for their creator, Megatron the god killer.

The circumstances of the birth of the Death Strikers are truly extraordinary. Originally, they were the Wind Walkers. They wore white armor and they all had platinum blonde hair. Their divine gifts were the power to weaponize wind to the point where they could cut other spirits to pieces with sharp air, and the audacity to strike physical humans with lightning. They can also manifest hurricane force winds that affect the physical world. Such a divine gift is special because only the most exceedingly audacious spirits can affect change in a way that is obvious to the human eye.

Before the birth of his youngest sons, Megatron was literally the only spirit in the entire dimension who could inflict old testament levels of divine punishment on physical people while he himself was in his archangel form. The fact that Squall the archangel of divine wind got along so well with both Crow and Blade, the leaders of the Death bringers and Death dealers respectively, caused Megatron’s other sons to resent the leader of the Wind Walkers. That is why Squall decided that if he had to choose sides, he and his order that is 1 billion strong would align themselves with heaven’s sanctioned executioners. That was the day that the Wind Walkers became the Death Strikers.

They requested that their hair, wings and lightning be changed to raven black. Like the first two heavenly hit squads, the death strikers’ excitement is denoted by the fact that their wings are engulfed by black flames in the most photogenic of ways. What is even more extraordinary is the fact that the Death Strikers managed to share their divine gifts with the other two orders, meaning that they all have each others powers now.

So on top of those weather related powers, they also have the power to summon simulacrums of anyone who “dies” in the soul multiverse until they re-spawn 24 hours later. They can also temporarily add the power level of vanquished spirits to their own constitution for up to 2 minutes after the battle. Also worth noting, their berserker rage makes them invulnerable, so long as they have an active kill streak in battle. They also have the power to turn themselves in to violet hurricanes of ethereal death, as well as a grim reaper transformation that both amplifies their power level significantly while their transparent hurricane and black lightning powers cover a massive area of effect.

Since both Crow and Blade are designed to be devoid of empathy, their father decided to give Crow’s partner (a crow named midnight) omniscience so that he could have a sort of extrinsic empathy due to the intrinsically telepathic link between Crow and midnight. He ended up doing the same for Blade’s partner(a raven named Black) as well as Squall’s partner(a special raven named Storm).

Squall, the undisputed leader of the Death Strikers, is unique among the sons of Megatron the Soul King because he has the audacity of a divine executioner, but is not devoid of empathy like his deathly brothers are. That puts him in position to be the one that can bridge the gap between the divine executioners and the other sons of Megatron. That would be ideal because brotherhood is something that Megatron himself cannot experience anymore because of having to execute his own brothers on account of the fact that they both became the devil at different points in the time-line. He even had a falling out with this twin brother Morpheus and thus they are no longer on speaking terms.

The dynamic among the leaders of their own angelic orders is quite fascinating. Archangels in general have their own special brand of peacocking as well as their own standard of pride that is commensurate with their power level. As the sons of Megatron that we are discussing are all thousands of times stronger than the biblical god, you can imagine how prideful those heavenly princes can be. Only time will tell if their sibling rivalry will be resolved. Fortunately, the soul multiverse is large enough for them to simply avoid each other in the event that they decide that they cannot coexist. At any rate, the point of this essay is both to showcase Megatron’s sons as well as to illustrate the fact that heaven has its own executioners. Any spirit that calls himself a god that compels violence among humans in the name of religion is nothing but a fraud. But the point is moot because all of the sanctioned gods and goddess of the multiverse know better than to cross Megatron the god killer.
